Nicole Richie Wants to Mend Issues With Biological Parents

Pregnant Nicole Richie is looking to mend issues with her biological parents. The 26-year-old Simple Life star is the adopted daughter of soul singer Lionel Richie, 58. Nicole Richie's biological father is 1980's pop musician Pete Escovedo Jr. and her mother, who Nicole hasn't maintained contact with for years. Nicole wans her unborn child to know his/her real family. She said, "Of course, you just want to heal any wounds before I become a mother myself."

Nicole made it clear, "It wasn't an overnight decision. When I found out that I was pregnant, there was just something inside of me that felt a responsibility to mend any issues that I've had with my parents in the past, because listen, I have put them through a lot."

Nicole Richie's real father is also believed to have been Lionel Richie's backstage assistant during his 1980 world tour.

Don't call me Grandpa! Nicole has also revealed that her adoptive father refuses to be called Grandpa because it makes him feel old. Although Lionel is very excited about her pregnancy, Nicole told Access Hollywood "He has all these names that he's ready for the baby to call him, in substitute of Grandpa, because he doesn't like Grandpa."

Nicole also denied rumors she knows the sex of her unborn child saying she's waiting til birth to find out.
