Top Gun Sequel In The Works

A Top Gun sequel starring Tom Cruise is in the works. Tom Cruise, now 46-years-old is currently in talks about doing a sequel to the movie which launched his career in 1986 when he starred as rookie pilot Maverick. A source told The Sun, "The idea is Maverick is at the Top Gun school as an instructor - and this time it is he who has to deal with a cocky new female pilot." Top Gun also launched Val Kilmer, 48, career when he starred as Lt. Tom 'Iceman' Kazansky.

Top Gun was the second leading role of Tom Cuise's career following 1983 'Risky Business.'

Tom cruise at first turned down the leading role in Top Gun but changed his mind after getting a chance to fly with the United States Navy's 'Blue Angels.'
