I think the extra security is a very smart move on thier part. Far too many celebrities do not take the lax in security that surrounds them as any 'real' threat. It isn't until something strange or even tragic happens that they or other celebrities realize, the world isn't exactly a safe place and it has to be even more dangerous for someone who is high profile considering the wierdos that abound today, the corporate kidnappings, domestic and international terrorism (yes I said domestic). It is far too easy for whackos to find celebrities these days and it only takes one time that some whacko tracks them down with the intention to do harm. Most, unfortunately, think themselves 'untouchable', and that sadly isn't the case. As many historical cases have shown, not that I wish anyone ill will. Not only that, it is foolish to believe that ONLY the "celebrity" is actually in danger. If it's so easy to go after a celebrity, how much more easy is it to go after their family? Would you ever wish to be put in the position of losing someone, because you weren't smart enough to higher personal private security that you could AFFORD?

I've been stalked, I've been attacked and I'm not even a celebrity. I was just foolish enough not to be and stay aware of my surroundings (not that I'm saying it's my fault, because I sure as H**L do not believe that stupidity - I just mean that staying aware of your surroundings is your first line of defense, changing your 'daily' patterns is your second and they are so easy to do that people forget to do them).

So, ya'll can laugh at my response or poke fun at the Beckhams or other celebrities that take thier 'exposure' seriously, but I think they are far smarter than anyone out there is giving them credit. It's the foolish, arrogant celebrity and every day person that are the ones that find themselves in tragic situations they can never take back.

Im have securities 2 theyre annoying trust me but i think Posh just likes showing off and she loves when people talk about her i think shes kul and posh just like meee!!!!lol

It seems like they are smart to have security. They are very high profile and better yet: They have the money to spend.
Additionally, we don't know how many threats Beckham gets. It might be daily.
If it helps them sleep and keeps them safe, then great.
